Ingredients
  

Onion Boil
  • 4 sweet onions whole, peeled
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic smashed
  • 1 cup broth vegetable or chicken
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Peel onions and trim root ends so they sit flat.
  2. Place onions in a single layer in a pot.
  3. Add butter, garlic, broth, and seasonings.
  4. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to simmer.
  5. Cover and cook for 25–30 minutes, turning once.
  6. Remove from heat when onions are fork-tender.
  7. Garnish and serve warm.
